Christmas Gifts
Choosing gifts for family and friends who are gardeners or aspiring gardeners is easy. Plants always make a great choice, as what else can you give someone that will get bigger and better with time? There are options for any budget and if you know a bit about the person you are buying for, you can choose a suitable plant for a specific area of their garden – a rose, frangipani or hibiscus for the sun, a hydrangea or fuchsia for the shade, or an indoor plant. If the lucky recipient is getting into productive gardening, you could buy them a fruit tree, herbs or even vegie seedlings or seeds. For more practical gifts, gardening tools and gloves are always appreciated.
Christmas Cheer
Nothing says Christmas more than poinsettias, for yourself or to give as gifts. They are great value and although I treat them as an annual, I still enjoying them till winter – much better value than a bunch of flowers. The traditional colour is red however they also come in shades of pink and cream, and they all look brilliant when sitting in an attractive pot or bowl.
Festive Makeover
With Christmas just around the corner, and rellies and friends on their way over, it is time to give your garden a zhush. As well as weeding, mowing, mulching and giving your garden a general tidy up, why not add some instant potted colour to bring cheer to entrances and entertaining areas. If they look a little small or plain now, simply add some extra ‘bling’ by adorning them with tinsel, baubles, bows, or even fairy lights.
Indoor Inspiration
Have fun adding more indoor plants to your home and combining them with suitable cover pots. You can quickly create new looks and feels inside by arranging them with those you already have. Having good looking, healthy indoor plants not only improves the appearance of our homes, but scientific studies also show that they have significant benefits on air quality within our homes.
